Sarayaku — Kawsak Sacha

This opportunity would strengthen Sarayaku's own capacity to govern, document and defend Kawsak Sacha. The Living Forest is Sarayaku's territorial and biocultural vision; funding would support its institutions, knowledge and priorities.

Sarayaku has its own governing bodies and Kaskiruna monitoring team. The proposal would strengthen patrols, mapping and evidence to respond to road expansion, extractive pressures and other threats prioritised by Sarayaku. The implementing body would be designated by Sarayaku.

Community-approved work plan and safeguards; better-resourced Kaskiruna; an initial alert and response system; authorised mapping; legal and communication capacity; and youth training.

These are goals, not results already achieved.

Scope, budget and milestones agreed with Sarayaku before disbursement. Sarayaku retains authority over data, maps, images and narratives. Sensitive information is shared only with appropriate authorisation.

TAF supports proportionate assessment, funding coordination, implementation accompaniment and reporting. TAF's Coordination & Accountability Fee is separate from Project Capital. Local leadership and community control remain with Sarayaku.
