About us
Territory Allies Fund is a Barcelona-based nonprofit association connecting philanthropic support with community-led conservation in Latin America. We work through existing local relationships, help structure funding collaborations and accompany agreed work while local partners retain decision-making authority.
Where we are
Early, on purpose.
Our initial focus is principally Ecuador, where we are beginning with a small portfolio rooted in existing local relationships. The Pilot lets us develop and test carefully structured, community-defined funding collaborations before pursuing broader ambitions.
During this phase, opportunities principally centre on stewardship, conservation and restoration, territorial governance, monitoring, biocultural continuity and livelihoods — not every initiative covers all of them, and they often develop together and reinforce one another rather than in a fixed sequence. This is a deliberately focused starting scope; our longer-term North Star reaches further into the rights, governance and other enabling conditions that allow locally led territorial stewardship to endure.
Legal & Governance
A non-profit,by constitution.
Territory Allies Fund is a non-profit association (asociación sin ánimo de lucro) constituted in Barcelona under Catalan association law (Book Three of the Civil Code of Catalonia). Its registration number is pending. It intends to pursue public-interest (utilidad pública) recognition.
Governance runs through a General Assembly and a Board (the founding team). The Board is accountable to the General Assembly under the bylaws. Governance policies beyond the bylaws remain subject to formal approval.
Governance commitments
No distribution of profits
All surplus is reinvested into the mission — by statute, not policy.
Conflict-of-interest safeguards
Board members declare and recuse where applicable.
Dual authorisation
Major transactions require two-signature approval.
AML & due diligence
Risk-based anti-money-laundering and counterparty checks, proportionate to each funding source and applicable legal requirements.
